The short version
You can use the free tier to write 1 script a month. £9 gets you unlimited scripts for life. £29 adds the readings library. What the AI writes is yours — edit it, sell ceremonies based on it, do whatever a celebrant does. Refunds within 14 days, no questions asked.
1. Who we are
Ceremony Script AI ("the service") is operated by Samuel Stevens, trading from the United Kingdom at ceremonyscript.co.uk. By using the service, you agree to these terms.
2. What the service does
The service uses AI to generate first-draft ceremony scripts for wedding and funeral celebrants based on inputs you provide. The output is a starting draft — designed to be edited and personalised by you, the celebrant.
3. Tiers and pricing
- Free: 1 script per calendar month per email address. Free forever.
- Unlimited (£9 one-off): unlimited scripts, lifetime access for the email address you paid with. No recurring charges.
- Unlimited + Library (£29 one-off): everything in Unlimited, plus access to our curated readings and poems library. Lifetime access.
All prices are in GBP and include VAT where applicable. "Lifetime" means the operational lifetime of the service.
4. Refunds
We offer a 14-day no-questions-asked refund from the date of purchase for paid tiers. Email hello@ceremonyscript.co.uk with the email address you bought with and we'll refund you in full.
After 14 days, refunds are at our discretion. This policy is in addition to your statutory rights under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015.
5. Who owns the script
You do. Any script the AI generates from your inputs is yours to use however you want — read it at the ceremony, edit it, sell ceremonies based on it, give it to your couples or families. We claim no ownership over the output.
We retain ownership of the underlying software, prompts, branding, and design.
6. AI output — important
The AI generates a draft. It can produce mistakes, awkward phrasing, factual errors, or content that doesn't suit a specific family or couple. Always read and edit the script before delivering it. You are responsible for what you say at the ceremony.
Nothing in the generated output should be treated as legal advice. In England and Wales, civil and humanist celebrants do not perform the legal element of marriage — that's a registrar's job. The service does not assist with the legal paperwork side of marriage.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service to generate content that is unlawful, hateful, defamatory, harassing, or harmful to any person
- Attempt to bypass the free-tier quota by using multiple email addresses to evade payment
- Resell, repackage, or expose the service's API or output as your own competing tool
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload the service
- Impersonate a real person without their permission in the ceremony content
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules, without refund for the portion already used.
8. Service availability
We aim for the service to be available 24/7 but we can't guarantee uninterrupted access. We may take the service down for maintenance, updates, or for reasons outside our control (e.g. our AI or hosting provider has an outage). We'll do our best to give notice for planned maintenance.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose (which for many users will be £0, £9, or £29).
We are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, including lost revenue, lost bookings, or distress caused by the AI output. This does not exclude liability that cannot be excluded by UK law (such as for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud).
10. Changes to the service or terms
We may add features, change features, or update these terms. If a change materially affects paid customers (e.g. removing a feature you paid for), we'll notify you and offer a refund if you're not happy.
For free-tier users, we reserve the right to change or end the free tier with reasonable notice.
11. If we shut down
If the service is ever discontinued, we'll give paid customers reasonable notice and a way to download anything they've generated that's still in their account.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
